i'm about to run dual exhaust on my truck I know glass packs or a lot cheaper but I don't mind spending the extra cash if the flowmasters will give me a better sound by the way i'm also installing headers too, any advice would be helpful thanks.

depends upon how loud you like it.....
Both have good sound - glass packs much louder and have a higher rapping noise - flowmasters have that deep growl sound - depending upon which one you get - more chambers - the quieter it is....

Flowmasters are far less obnoxious, especially if you are running headers. Every rusty V6 Ford Ranger in my high school parking lot had glass packs. You don't want to be part of that crowd do you? ;)

Not anymore man they got flows, stock, or a rice burner and a tin can. If ya want I could make a video of my dual glasspacks

I had glass packs on my RC. It was ok. I had them on a V6 S10 ZR2, it sounded like a grand am with ricer pipes. I would go with flowmasters.

My truck sounded like a Mustang w/ Flows on it. Not exactly like one, bit deeper tone, but very similar.

Becareful on which flowmasters you buy, The cab drone will kill you at certian rpm's. You can get baffled glasspacks much quieter than regular ones and lenth makes a big difference on how loud it will be.

Does anyone know if running a single 18" Chambered Muffler with no cats is equivelent to a 18" Single glasspack in sound?
I cant choose whether to go with a Dual Glasspack or a single Classic Chambered Muffler.

Flowmaster delta 40's. No drone. I got them on my 65 Coronet, Dakota V6, Durango V8

I had old original Flowmaster 2-chamber 40's (pre-Delta), with rear exit pipes and 3" tips there was no drone, was almost too quiet. side exit or dumps would be louder, dumps will give you some cab drone, side or rear exit shouldn't though.

I had 2 chambered Flowmasters full tailpipes and factory exhaust tips on my 68 Coronet R/T with 440 3:54 Dana and at 45 mph you couldnt stand the drone in the car.

The regular flowmasters will have drone, the deltas are designed to not drone.
Speed, you have heard my cars, what do you think?

Speed, you have heard my cars, what do you think?I like them, especially the Durango sounds good. I do remember mine did have a more noticeable tone at around 2500, I guess the length of the truck kept it from droning.

Is that a good thang?

Is that a good thang? It is if you're a Mustang fan :) Which actually I'm not, but it's the nearest thing I could think of to what my truck sounded like.

I had the series 40 Flowmaster on my 99, Loud enough for my liking and not loud enough to make my neighbors mad.

run just a cat, as for my taste that is the next best sound to a lopeing 383 or a split manifold straight piped "leaning tower of power".
