Sorry Gearbox.

I assume you mean the steering gearbox? I don't think the car boxes fit, has to be the truck or Ramcharger.

Lost in translation there!
We Brits call the Tranny the Gearbox a tranny is a whole different ball game! ;)
Its the tranny I am trying to identify.

Here.... I can clear this up. Lemme' translate for you guys....

US - "Hood"
UK - "Bonnet"

US - "Trunk"
UK - "Boot"

US - Steering wheel on the left side.
UK - Steering wheel on the wrong side

:D :D :D

(Actually, I think both countries got it wrong. I've always thought the driver should "exit" ("Way Out" in UK) on the curb side. I mean, why should WE have to watch out for dump trucks barreling down the road? Let the passenger worry about it! What did they do beside just ride with you and not shut up? Hell, if something happens, you can always get another passenger. They're a dime-a-dozen! Who decided this anyway? I wanna talk to this guy!) :D :D :D

I don't know who did but the centerline of most paved roads is marked better than the edges... If the driver used the edge as reference the would be all over the place and replacing passengers often along with the passenge side of the vehicle.
Some years ago when the county marked the downhill edge of the road I live on an idiot crashed into a power pole on the opposite side that hadn't been marked yet.
A stick shift UK gearbox has a 1st motion shaft, laygear and 3rd motion shaft. A US manual transmission has an input shaft, countershaft (cluster gear) and output shaft by comparison.

Plus you can't see to overtake. It makes it interesting, playing peekaboo out from behind a Semi-truck on our single lane roads.
Looks like it's a 904 thanks Mopower 79.
Are these man enough for a 318 D200 Crewcab?

I didn't think about over-taking since I live on a winding mountain road that Semis aren't allowed on due to weight, turn radius and steepness.
A-904 would be a slush-box (automatic). Many 2wd trucks use the same long tail housing transmission used in cars, at least they will physically interchange... The truck versions tend to have an additional disc in the front cluch pack. I would put a shift kit on a car transmission if you use it in a truck. (Sorry about all the UK vs US jokes.)

Ya know... All the 'rural' mail-drivers (Mail-men-women) around here, they all got their hands on right-hand drives. Obvious reasons of course.
And we have logging trucks flying down roads around here... Sometimes in control, sometimes not.... Have yet to lose a postal-delivery-person.. ;)

Heh heh heh .... I figure if you can't stay in your own lane, or know when to pass, you shouldn't have a drivers license. :D :D :D

(Sorry about all the UK vs US jokes.)

300, I DON'T need you apologizing for me. My comments were all in good fun (Did you notice all the 'Smiley Faces??) and I'm sure Tornado was not...*GASP* ... offended.
A lot of what I post here is to try and be helpful. And a lot is to try and bring a smile or laugh. And most of the time when I'm trying to be humorous, as most who have been on this website for some time, know I pull no punches. If you want to apologize for something YOU said, knock yourself out. Just don't do it for me.

Mmmmm .... So how does this work?
Does one get:

Tired of working on tires?
Tired of working on tyres?
Tyred of working on tires?
Tyred of working on tyres?

:D :D :D

IMO if you do heavy work the 904 needs to go and be replaced w/ a 727.

Tornado

May have to think on swapping with 727 in the long term.
Thanks guys for all your help.
As for the jokes we Brits have thick skin!
Due in part to the rest of Europe hating us, probably because they always came runners up in any war with us :rck:
