I was just wondering if there is some way to know if the timing is off or if the belt broke with out lowering the motor and undoing everything. And if the car would do anything or make some kinda noise if it was the timing? Thanks! :rck:

you could pop out the access plug and look in
you should be able to see the belt running across the top of the cam sprocket
if not, its probably busted
see picture below, #1 points to the access plug
my '97 has an access cover. when i broke my timing belt it was very obvious (see second picture)
you could also crank the engine with the plug out and see if you can see the cam sprocket spin
