Went to change the O2 sensor ( the one right behind the intake ),
jacked the van up, crawled underneath, but couldn't get both hands up in there to disconnect the plug. Also couldn't get a good feel of the wrench on the sensor.

Looked at it from above, and it looks like if I take the cowl off I could get in there. Does the plastic tub underneath the wiper motor area come off? Anybody tried this?

Trying to save a couple $$ and avoid another service charge.

Thanks!

I did it from the top.
Took out the w/w tray and had enough room.

Tray took about 20 minutes total.
Disconnect the battery first.
The rest was very ez.

I used a proper O2 socket also.

Watch out for the fake hex screws on top of the cowl ends.
Now why would they make fake screws???

Good Luck.

Well....I took off the cowl and window-wiper tray, very easy.
Still couldn't get to the sensor, was able to get ahold of the wires and plug, but couldn't see the plug to unplug it. I then followed the wires down but could barely touch the sensor, maybe my arms are too big...LOL

I was thinking maybe I could take off the alt and bracket and could get in there from the left? Not sure. Gonna take another look from the bottom again tomorrow.

How do the pro's do it? Can you get to it real good from a lift?
Also anyone know what a mechanic would charge? 2 hours?

Thanks!

The layout may be somewhat different between your 2000 and my 2001 but I was able to get at it from above. I'm assuming you have an O2 socket because without it, I'm not sure I could have changed mine. It did take a combination of extensions and flex joints. Also, if you have the time, try to soak it with PB Blaster to make removal easier.

I was able to reach over the top of the manifold and reach down.
It was tight, But with a O2 wrench. It went easy.
