I found a 54 or 55, not sure exactly what year it is, Willy's Jeep Pickup for $650. I went and looked at it, and it looks to be in great shape. When I called and asked about it, the lady said her husband had placed the ad, and that the truck had been her fathers... AND everything is all original on it. She also said someone had stolen the water pump off the motor, so they don't think it runs.
The body was straight, I saw no dents or dings. Needs paint of course... there was some sort of thick black paint (definately not an automotive paint) dripped and smeared over red on it. Could see some faint white lettering on the doors under it. Looking under it the frame looked solid... looked like it just had surface rust that you would expect from a 54 year old truck. All the glass looked good, no cracks or nicks, headlights looked perfect. Interior looked like it only need to be cleaned, and like maybe a nob was missing from one of the 3 levers on the floor.
Is this a good find, should I snag this up? I am trying to get my wife to buy off on it... I asked her if I could sell the '74 Datsun 240Z and '77 Datsun 280Z she made me pick up almost a year ago that I still haven't touched yet and have this taking up space instead of them, lol... she didn't seem to care.
