Foglights replacement????

I have come into a dilemma. I have a 2002 Dodge Neon ES. I live in New York, and during the first snow storm this winter my passenger side foglight (lamp) cracked. I mean it litterally shattered. I just contacted Dodge today and they told me each fog lamp cost $130. I don't have that kind of money.

Question is:
Do I check the local junkyards for a replacement fog lamp, or do I go into an autoparts stors (eg.. Auto Zone or R & S Strauss) and buy a new set of fog lamps and replace them where the stock lamps are placed?

I don't know yet how the stock lamps are mounted, but I am good with wiring and I have installed foglamps on cars before, so I feel like a new pair of lamps might be cost effective and not too difficult, just tedious... :IDEA:

new lamps will be cheaper but won't fit the hole like stock one's do. Search your local JunkYards for a 02' ONLY neon for a replacement(01's will fit but look slightly different and use a different bulb)

Interesting to hear that they changed them between the years. I amn aware of the rathe robvious difference between the 04's but not the 02s. What bulbs do the 02s use that the 01s don't?

Yeah, at a $130 a piece, that is a bit of a rip off. You'd be better off to buy a good, quality set of lights from like Cibie or Bosch (Not I said quality, not the local AUtozone/Canadian Tire offerings...) and custom-fit them to the bumper.

i have aftermarket pilot ones they work good my car didnt come with stock ones so i added these

I have to go to the dealership to get my passenger side seatbelt replaced. I'm gonna check out this junkyard on the same block see if they have it. Anyone looking for a stock passenger side powermirror. Driver got taken off, so I replaced them both with a pair of mirrors from ebay, haven't hooked up the lights yet thought, waiting for warmer weather.
