ok let me tell you what i have so far, I've done some exhaust work to the car (its actually a 97 talon, but all the dsm guys are turbo guys and i don't have that luxuary, yet waiting to save up and get an srt-4 when i'm done with school which is very soon) i've got a nice header on there and a K&N filter, and less restrictive muffler. I was wondering if you neon guys know any tricks to get some more juice out of the 420a, i'm not looking for exstensive large power gains, just little odds and ends i might not be picking up on?
thanks

Every lil bit of power helps! Hopefully some of our neon guys can get you headed in the right direction since the dsm guys are too hooked on their turbos to help you out.
Good luck!

A UDP, CAI, bigger TB and Header will help that motor greatly as it does on the Neon. Those would be great low $$-HP mods, other than that the same things as per all small 4cyl motors to increase power like higher compression, P&P Intake manifold, Race flowing your head. Theirs always the basics no matter what u own!

i dont get me wrong im chrysler all the way but not all dsm guys r hooked on their turbos. first dsm was the company that built all of the eclipse, talon, and laser from 89-99 granted all of the dsm people want those turbos but its not different then neon fans wanting an srt-4. u always want the best model and the fastest model. dont forget dsm actually was the one who built all of the 1st gen neon engines and alot of dodge's small truck engines. and dvgrt had a good line up for mods go ahead and check www.machv.com they have tons of dsm supplies for turbo and na.

I am not the fwd 4 cylinder tuner so please dont flame me for asking crazy questions.
With that being said, what is the benifit to swapping out cam gears? I can understand if it is only to ease the process of tuning and timing the engine but is there any performance inhancement by changing to a certain gear? Under sizing or over sizing maybe??
Any info is greatly appreciated.

Changing Cam gears in a neon is only really for adjustability. No say "gain" from diff. ones just being able to adjust.

Wpb02D, I thought about turbo charging but my car has alot of miles on it and i don't think it would be worth it
