I have a 96 stratus es and i am getting gas mileage in the teens, i already had some new tranny parts and a new EGR valve replaced. I wondered if anyone new of anything else i could do to get higher gas mileage. I also am a bit of a tuner fan and i would like to know if anyone knows of some stratus performance parts that are more budget priced. Thanks a lot guys and girls.

How long has your milage been in the teens? I ask this because the milage in my strat went down in the teens this winter, but since it's started warming up the milage has been going back up too.

when was your last tune up? Hows the air filter, Plugs, wires? Keeping a regular schedule for oil changes? How long are you letting your car warm up? The longer you let it warm up the more gas you are using and not moving. What engine do you have? Do you drive alot of short trips or highway?

it had a tune up about a year and a half ago when i got it used. I dont let it warm up for more than five minutes. I've had regular oil changes and its been in and out of the shop for various things. Its a 1996 stratus Es with a 2.4L 4 cylinder. I do take a lot of short trips but i would think the mpg would be at least in the 20's. Its got around 88K miles. its been a problem and i was gettin around 20/21 in the summer but still, a guy i know had about the same stratus and was gettin 36 miles to the gallon. Should i upgrade to performance wires and plugs or what?
