You guys that lowered your trucks what are you using for shocks, I was plannin somewhere around a 4/6 with one ton a-arms 94-01 3" Springs and puttin the leafs under the axle (anyone got a picture of there spring under axle setup I'd like to see it). And can anyone tell me for sure if the 1 ton a-arms drop it 2" or should I go with Dakota spindles just to make sure?

I have heard alot about using the 1 ton control arms, but there is a couple of different ball joint sizes so you have to watch out and make sure you get the right ones. We don't have any junk yards around here to even find parts like that so I just ordered a set of 2" drop control arms from Eric at Mid America Customs the look to be really good pieces. There is actually some pictures of them in the lowering sticky. I also got this picture from that sticky it is one of Eric's trucks and it shows the rear axle flip. Sounds to me like you need to order his whole kit. After I went to save these pictures I noticed that you had already been on the thread that shows Erics kit oh well.

I'd love to order his whole kit especially those arms but I can't afford either so I gotta just piece it together from what I can

I understand that. If you reserch enough about the 1ton arms you should be able to find what you need.

I did some lookin and the trucks that came with the Cummins and some big blocks have the 4000lb axle which means they have the bigger ball joints, so if the truck has a small block the a-arms are useable in the half ton

I have an old TRW suspenion catalog, according to it the 4000# lower control arm used in the '88-92 diesel use the same ball joint and bushing as the 1/2 and 3/4 ton. The gas engine lists a different # for both parts.... I don't know if the Gas & Diesel use the same type of control arm though.
