Well once I get these headers figured out I gonna go ahead and have duals ran and put out before each rear tire, not sure on muffler type brand etc but I may have to go with somethin cheap, until I get more money.

It looks like it'd cost more and be a big hassle of pipes if I ran it all the way out the back, anyone have more suggestions?

I run Cherry Bomb Turbo mufflers and the new pipes dump before the wheel on my truck. The mufflers were 25 apiece and sound nice, definately an old truck sound!

run open headers or a straight pipe that comes out under the cab

Yea, I ran open headers up and down the street and it was, was loud :)

Cops and such wouldnt like it too much so I just got the exhaust ran.

Its true dual exhaust no xyz pipes just 2"-1/4" pipes ran both collectors to glasspacks. Gonna buy some JC Whitney cutouts here soon so if I want more power etc I can have it.

Heres the pictures,

Aircleaner I just bought,
Driverside header, torched a little bit of the frame (was making a rattlle)
Passenger side header
Oil filter conversion kits (fram part k21)
Exhaust pipes and 2 glasspacks
And the starter heatshield

I wouldn't bother w/ cutouts if you're running glasspacks, they're straight-through mufflers and don't offer much restriction.

True, but the noise and it'd be fun. ;)

Im thinking of running open headers for a while before installing an exhaust system. Is there anything I need to do or just unhook everything up to the headers?

mikehopkinsjr

Yea, its headers without anything at all... Make sure you wont get a huge ticket for noise/equipment violation. and that your starter and everything is ok. I wouldnt do it for a long time could burn up your valves

The cops around here dont care about noise and we dont have emissions :) What do you mean "starter is ok"?

mikehopkinsjr

Heat shielded so the heat from the header pipes dont cook it, like mine is

Fnix

Ah, ok. I might just hook the headers into a 3 foot straight pipe then

guess everyone has there preference, When I had mine open for a day or so after I got them on I could hardly think while goin down the road. The glasspacks are almost getting broke in so they'll sound real nice here soon

convert your oil filter to what and why?

mikehopkinsjr
04-07-2008, 06:17 PM
The oilfilter had a 90deg adapter meant for cars which doesnt work with headers on a truck application, its a easy $12 fix.
