Well, got th HEI on there, over 1000km on highway, no problem. Back home and putzing around and the truck dies... fiddle with some wires and it goes again. later on in the day it dies in a parking lot. all my under the hood circuits seem good however the problem seems that of the ballast resistor thats not there... wile holding the key on it runs, let the key go to run position it dies... right now its jumped so whenever I want to drive I have to connect my wire and stop unplug it... I replaced my ignition module on the fender and thats not the problem. Tonight if I cant figure this out I will be finding a hot wire with the key in the run mode and making a hard connection that way.

Interesting....has the key switch been replaced or is it original?
Maybe the connection at the firewall?
I'd check for voltage at the original ballast connection and start tracing from there.

Sounds like the ignition switch or wiring

Figured it out after 4ish hours of wire chasing. My circuit board is toast. Power goes in but not out. Right now it is jumped and working. When weather gets better I need to pull a dash from the SY then try to put it in my truck without breaking anything.
