Hello
I have a 1997 Caravan and the left front turn Signal Bulb keeps Blowing up.
It doesn't just burn out it blows up. It seems to work fine for about 3 days then it starts blinking fast and I know its blown again. Other bulbs are fine it's only the left front. I tried 3047 bulb 2 times,3147 2 times and now a 3057 has been working for two days. What is the correct bulb anyway? Does anyone else have the same problem? I'm getting quite a collection of broken glass inside the headlight now.
Thanks

Front turn signal is 3157. Most likely a corroded ground or a bad socket. Check the ground first.

Have you replaced your headlight assemblies or are they original? My turn signal sockets went bad and I've had to replace them with oe ones (that I threw away with the original headlight assembies) because the aftermarket ones failed.

Where do you buy the sockets at? I assume they are similar to the ones used on the rear brakes? I think me passenger rear light sockets are bad and I need to replace them.

it is common for water to leak into the turn signal housing, and these bulbs are constantly illuminated during the daytime (in canada) for DRL's, and they become quite hot. the moment a cold drop of water touches the blub it cracks and explodes

if you have exposed light bulbs on the outside of your house try leaving them on for 10 minutes and spraying them with the garden hose, you will see what i'm talking about

if you want, put white 3157s in there for now, they might look a bit funny but they burn a little cooler than amber ones

Thanks,I think you are correct. I've had a white bulb in now for 1 week and it's just fine. Thanks George
