Ok so this afternoon I looked under my truck by the spair tire to see where I would need to mount a hitch...I noticed it looks like I already have a hitch just not the reciever part? Its built into the fram and has to points to wich you can bolt on a reciever. Its linked into the bumper as well. Looks like a black tube about 3 to 4 inches around. :help:

Thanks in advance,

Ryan

Well, thank you for the info, but I'm not looking to buy one. I am trying to see if my tuck already has one but with out the receiver part. Here I will try to explain a little better. Ok underneath my truck by the speir tire is a black 3 to 4 inch around tube that looks like the mounting part of a tow hitch. It goes from the frame to the bumper and is even shaped like a hitch. It does not have a receiver on it but looks like it has two holes for bolts to go through or something.. I remember the dealer saying that it was already set up for the tow package but doesnt have a 7 pin. only the 4. It does have 4 coolers in the front end. It has the radiator then to left of that is a cooler that is half the width as the radiator but the same highth... in front of the radiator are to smaller coolers about the same length as the radiator but only about 5 to 6 inches high and the bottom one is only about 3 to 4 inches high. Hope this helped!

Thanks again

I know what your saying. you dont have one. its the rienforcement for your step bumper. You have to add it. what your seeing has to come out and you need to install the whole new piece with the reciever on it. Im not sure it you can buy a reciver to bolt up or not.

Check with Art at Henson Motors, I think there is a receiver that just bolts to the support. I know you can buy them seperate from the entire hitch assembly so you may be able to just get that one piece and not have to replace the entire support.

There is just the receiver that bolts to the existing tube support and the back of the bumper. Draw-tite, Hidden Hitch, Putnam, Valley all make one.

Ditto this. Mopar also sells them too. I've added them to my last two Dodge trucks. (had just the tube support and needed the receiver.)

Provided the guidelines are followed (use a weight distributing hitch, etc) you can pull the full amount your truck is rated for by Dodge.

Yes, I know what your talking about I found the same thing on my 07 Ram. I work at a steel manufactuer and we welded up and made my own hitch part and all I had to do was buy the piece with the drop and ball on it; it bolts right to the bumper. It cost me nothing to make mine and I tow a 7x16 encloed trailer with two atv's inside.
