Just wondering how difficult it is the replace the rear shocks on a 98 Dodge Caravan. Is there alot of pressure on the shocks?
Thanks,

If you '98 is like my '96 with just plain shocks, I put the rear end up on ramps and took the old shocks off and put the new ones on no sweat, and no other support devices required.

You didn't have to clamp the springs?
I'm not in a rush to change the rear shocks, but I'm going to have to change them soon. I was gonna take it to the shop.

There is not problem changing the shocks. Make sure you get some loctite blue or red for the threads on the bolts. Otherwise they will loosen over time and fall out.
Replace them with air shocks.

changing the rear shocks is about the easiest job you can do - hell - you do not even need to take the wheel off or jack it up - just run it up on ramps

I did the shocks on my '97 last summer. After installing a trailer hitch, I realized that it was sitting too low. The easiest, and quickest way to solve the problem was by throwing in a pair of air shocks. I didn't have ramps, so I used a jack, and took off the wheels to do the job. It took about an hour all told, but that included time to route the air lines, and secure them. If you are just swapping in stock replacement shocks it shouldn't take you more than say 30 - 45 minutes.
