I'm looking for directions and diagram for changing the evaporator core on my 1999 dodge caravan. can anyone tell me where to find these things?

You should get the shop manual for your year van. I know it's expensive but you will ultimately save the manual price many times over doing your own repairs. You may find the info you need at the AutoZone repair guide site.

Search this site. I believe someone did the same job, and posted pictures as he went. It looked scarry!
I think most of the dash, front seats had to come out.

I did a DIY on this which is in a thread. It is daunting but pretty simple. Lots of bolts and screws. And yes, the entire dash has to come apart and the HVAC box too. Took me 16 hours. I took my time. I could probably cut thatto about 8 hours on the next one. If I ever did another one that is. But I saved about $700 doing it myself.
