Hey guys, I am wiring in the 6 pole connector on my 03 2500 and I have found every wire I need but I am not sure about the ground wire. At the factory plug in back is the white wire with a red tracer the ground? it seems to be the one that works out to be the ground or possibly one (or both) black wires in this plug could be it. :help: Thanks in advance

I am a little confused. Do you already have a 7-pin and you are adding a 6-pin or you do not have any and are wiring in a 6-pin? I would just wire in the 7-pin and have the ability for all of the functions and get a 6-pin adapter for your trailer.
As far as the ground. Just find a chasis ground point and you are all set. You don;t need to find a "ground" wire to tap into for the installation.

Sorry about the confusion, I had no conecter and wired in a 6 pin because that is what all of my trailers use. In all my years of pullling trailers I have yet to need the 7 pin. I had always assumed these are more designed for camper trailers. Thanks for the reply, I did ground to the frame.

No problem....The only difference from the 6-pin to the 7-pin is reverse lights.
