It's pretty straightforward just by looking at it. What exactly is hanging you up?

Hey Surf...
You'll need to remove the bolt that retains the steering coupler to the box first, then you'll need to remove the power steering hoses and tie them off to keep them out of your way. Then you'll need to split the joint where the Pittman arm attaches to the drag link...this can be done with a good whack from a big hammer or a pickle fork. There should be 3 or 4 large bolts that hold the box to the frame..remove these and the box should come right out.
If need be I can scan the appropriate pages from a copy of the factory service manual. As a matter of fact you should search Ebay for a copy. They can be found pretty cheap and much better than the Haynes or Chiltons manuals.

Spring loaded pin? It sounds like a roll-pin ~1/4" on the steering input shaft. When years ago on my first van I ground the tip of a long 5/16" bolt to make a punch for a '78 which uses the rag coupler. I know the later vans use a different flex joint on the shaft so the size of the pin might be different.

Yep Yep...the roll pin needs to be removed. You can use a steel punch and a small hammer to knock it out. You may want to reattach the box temporarily to the frame so it doesn't fall when you knock the roll pin out.
My 94 uses an actual bolt, but the joint is different.

They do run off the same cable. The problem is in the speedo/odo assembly itself.

You may want to try these folks for your speedo issues.

Oh, and by the way a factory shop is an absolute must. First thing I get when I buy a "new to me" vehicle. I found 5 between $15 and $20 on Ebay for your vehicle.
I bought an odometer/tripmeter gear from the guys listed above - made my '90 B250s odom/tripmeters work again. It's the 20 tooth gear.
A factory shop manual is an absolute must - I got mine from eBay for around $20 and it's been priceless (unlike the Haynes I bought in desperation while waiting for the factory manual).
