I am posting this for a Friend. He just got a 98 Neon Auto 2.0L SOHC With 153,000Miles Not sure of the modle. He got a killers Deal on the car itz Looks MINT! just high mileage  So being "The Dodge Guy" so he calls me what is the Bigest motor can i put in?? he does not even have the plates on the car yet. And he is working out who/what/how/where of doing a engien swap.
He is lookin for any info on Doing a swap what size can he move it up too. Also whats to know what all was differnt with the Neon R/T's other than the Looks? Also Any info about Trany Moding?
For the most part he whats to have a Sleeper Neon. whats to do 1/4mile runs, and use it for a Day'ly Driver. He ""was"" a big import fan  but he has been converted

I have truned him on to Dodgetalk but his Net is down and doesnt what to wait a week or so for his cable net to be hooked up.

Thanks ahead of time!!!

for the engine swap you can drop a v8 in the car if u wanted but you can also go with a 2.4 dohc or 2.0 dohc. the 2.0 would be the easiest to put in with less complications. the big difference with the r/t is it has a dohc and suspension upgrades. for the tranny mods check out modernperformance.com they have everything you need except for the engine. for the engine check around on the internet or check your local junkyards. if u have any questions or what ever about the swap go ahead and ask me i swapped out my sohc for a 2.0 dohc and it made a big difference. and i did like a day ago.

he can keep is 2.0l and put a turbo whith a stand alone fuel mangement system with a manuel transmition that will help alote for fuel economy but that will cost 5000$ and will give 200 Hp with the stock motor
