The gas gauge on my 94 B250 5.2 liter Continental Conversion Van does not work so im trying to figure out how far I can go on a full tank. Does anyone know how many gallons the fuel tank holds? It does not look very big. Thanks

It it's the big plastic tank, it's 36 gallons. If it's the metal tank, then it's 22 gallons.

Sometimes the wires from the fuel tank corrode and break a good connection causing the gauge not to work. Check the wires if you get a chance.

I have a 94 Conversion Van and it has a 35 gallon tank in it. Also, the fuel gage is part of the fuel pump, and uses a metal wiper attached to a float to sense the level of fuel. The wiper looses contact and causes the fuel gage to fail. The unfortunate solution is to replace the fuel pump. The fuel pump costs around $325. I just had that done to my van last August, but I went for 6-7 years without a fuel gage and just got gas at around 400 miles.

A good reason to just go around 400 miles before refilling is the fuel pump life will be prolonged since it will always be in the gas. By having the fuel pump in gas, the pump motor runs cooler. My original fuel pump lasted 192,000 miles.
