Hey all,

Just pulled off the fuel pump on my '76 b-200 to change a bad pump gasket. Now for some reason I can't get the pump re-seated on the block. What the heck am I missing here? I've replaced these fuel pumps before and they always slip back in without a problem. I know this is probably something stupid/ simple, but any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

It's possible your putting the arm of the pump over the eccentric, rather than under were it goes. Also try turning the engine about a turn.. This will turn the eccentric a half turn and will help if the eccentric happens to be up, it will be down and easier to install the pump.

Yes, try bumping the engine over with a small tap of the ignition key.

Thanks guys. That's just what I did. Turning the engine solved the problem.
