19 84alternator field wires

I have a 84 dodge b150 with a 360 the alt was off when i got it. The field wires on the back go into a sngle plug that plugs in either way. The wires are red and green. I need to know which one goes closest to the alt. Can anyone please HELP me as i dont want to burn the thing up. The parts house is very proud of them

The main wire (usually a black 10 AWG wire) goes to the main lug on the alternator. The other two lugs are for the field wires, the red and the green. It doesn't matter what lug you use for either wire.
