I have a '94 Intrepid with 148000 mi. Both connecting bolts between tierod ends and rack and pinion sheared off. Are there any recalls or service bulletins regarding this anomally? I baught the car used so I don't have a complete history on it. Thanks

I have not heard of any recalls either.

The Rubber bushingson the inner links are know for going bad.

A lot of Intrepid users have replaced them.

This could have been your problem. If they where gone, it would allow the control rods to knock around a lot, and could cause them to break.

If you want a LOT of good info on Intrepids join ******************, it is the best site on the web for Intrepids and has lots of members, tons of post you can find info from. Not knocking this site by any means, but most Intrepid owners use the other site.

There are a lot of people that have intrepids here that are both members of this site and ******************. It is good to use all of the resources on the web to get information on your vehicle.

Tie rod ends are easy and cheap to replace, in fact you do not even have to remove the wheel to do it on the Intrepid. If the bolts are "sheared" off, it sounds like someone who didn't know what they were doing tried to get them off with the wrong tools.

Well I can't really help on the subject of tie rods becasue I haven't done that to my car yet and the key word is yet, I talk to a bunch of people on dodgeintreid.net and they are really helpful on the subject of tie rods. I joined that site a while back it is a really good help like Dodgerunner1 said but I can't seem to get it loaded has anybody else had this problem I had one of my friends in Texas try it and he couldn't get it to load either.

I have not been able to get onto that site since late last week. I hope that it is only temporary, because if you are the owner of an Intrepid, it will be a valuable resource lost. Does anyone know what is happening there?

I also hope ****************** is only temp. gone.

Hopefully it's just a provider problem and the site will not be gone.
