Boy, was I getting tired of the stinkin' brake dust and dirt on my wheels. I've got a '99 Dakota Sport with the 5 spoke stock silver wheels. This will work on chrome, stock or whatever.

Slap a coat of wax (I have used Meguiars for 30+ years) on the wheels. Brake dust, etc. will just fall off at car wash time.

Now, I have a heated garage so doing this in the winter isn't a big deal. I imagine that one of those bottled spray waxes would work in cold weather.

A light coat of Vasoline will work in a pinch; an old trick for chrome wheels in the winter.

Hope this stops some high blood pressure days with my Dodgetalk friends!

I was just thinking about waxing my 20's this weekend. I will definately give it a shot next week when I wash her again. Thanks for the tip.

Not a problem, glad to help. I just thought of it a few weeks ago and haven't had to scrub my wheels since. Darn that was getting on my nerves. Beats getting wheel cleaner on my disc brakes all the time.

Cool tip! Thanks!

BTW - I just switched to Hawk HPS compound pads (http://www.hawkperformance.com/) around Christmas and the dust buildup has been way reduced! Now they are on both D's.
