We have a 1993 Dodge Intrepid 3.3 V6. The airbag light has been coming on every now and then for a good while, when it would come on the heater and windows would not work. The airbag light is now stuck on. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Any responses would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in Advance!
Jaime

Check your vehicle codes to see you get any errors. That might tell us a little bit more about what is going on. If you don't know how to do that, drop me a pm and I will explain how.

if your airbag light comes on id say drive it to a dealer and they'll make sure the thing works right, i wouldnt want that thing to be going off when it shouldnt or not going off when it should.

I just had this happen to me on my 94 starting two weeks ago. Now my whole guage cluster doesn't work. I'm going to be changing that out tomorrow to see if that fixes it. I'll keep you posted.

Did anyone figure out what was causing this problem and how to fix it?

It ended up that my guage cluster went bad. I went to the junk yard and got a good used one and put it in. It's been good to go now for about a month. Hope this helps.

My guage cluster works fine. It's just the power windows don't work or the heat and cooling system. The airbag light and the abs light stay on. What else could it be?

check your sensors for your air bags. they are located under the front bumper, under the back bumper, by your right foot on the driver side and by your left foot on the passanger side. for the heater, they have a self diagnostic test built into the system. a hanes manual will tell you how to do it. if you don't have one, I'll write you back with the procedures. by the way, if your air bag went bad, "U wrench it" sells them for $35. Already checked on prices when I had my problems. good luck. hope i could help some. Sterling

I was having problems with my dash guages going out and instrument panel lights going out and also my airbag light would come on when that happened. I noticed when I played around with the control knobs of my ATC(Automatic Temperature Control)control head, the guages would work ,panel lights would come back on and the airbag light would go out. I went to the junkyard and got another control head for $10.00 and it works fine. I was also having problems with the atc unit until I changed it. It's real easy to put in and take out.

I sure hope some one comes up with an answer to this one as the same thing happen to me today. Air bag light comes on as does ABS and heater and power windows do not work.
I have a spare so I changed the body control module. That had no effect.
Tomorrow I will try the ignition switch.
Keep us posted Jaime

Changed the ignition switch, (second time this year and under after market warranty) and this was the problem. Easy to change for those who want to do themselves.

There is a low pressure switch attached to the passenger side air bag. if the module detects low pressure it will illuminate the air bag light on dash. As others have posted, the ignition swicth or automatic temp control [atc] canalso effect many functions

I had the same problem a few months ago. My airbag light would come on and my dashboard gauges went dead. I have replaced the body control module (BCM) and now everithing is working fine. Try to reset the BCM first. That didn't work for me, but it could reduce the costs...

Have you checked the fuse?

Ignition switch is a known failure on these. Also on the frame rails in the front on the cradle are two ground wires make sure these are clean and tight.
