:help:
My '03 SRT-4 seems to run @ 200° while driving
regardless of the outside temp (80° or 25°). When
ideling @ a light, it continously runs 200°-225-ish° -
once I start moving, the temp drops to 200°. I've also
noticed that if I put the car in neutral (say driving
down a hill), the temp guage will drop rapidly.
Is this normal for this engine?
If anyone can help or have any ideas, email me

Turbo motors do tend to run a lil hotter than non turbo, Now I don't know for sure about the SRT-4 motor as I have actually yet to find someone willing to let me work on onebut my oild Turboed Neon ran about 215

NO, the motor should run a little under 200, check your antifreeze level and if it's at the right level then take it to the dealer. You have a brand new car, take advantage of the warranty. The service writer might not know much about it but there have been a few overheating problems. It doesn't cost anything to take it in, just get it checked out to be sure. They can't charge you the $100 deductable for something that cheap and simple.

If you have the problem and want it a little cooler for a while, turn on the A/C (cold). That will make the fans turn on, the temp must be at cold though because your A/C compressor turns on when you turn the defroster on too, just to cycle freon and it won't turn the fans on because it doesn't want to cool the freon, just cycle it.

I have had it to 2 different dealers & they can not find anything wrong with it

I'm wrong! There is nothing wrong with it unless it goes WAY high, like into the red or something, my car just runs cooler than most. I know a guy who had this problem with his car and he took it to the dealer, they asked if he ran the A/C (it was Summer time), he told them no. They told him that he should run the A/C to cool the car down a little better but if it goes too high there is a problem. The fans will turn on once the engine gets to about 220 or higher and that will cool it down a bit. My bad.

nothing wrong with your car....that is normal for an Srt-4
if you want to make it run cooler you can buy a 180 degree thrmostat...not sure on the part number but it will make the car run no higher then 180 degrees
