Exterior views aren't the greatest but the interior and under-hood shots may give some new insight to this truck.
I was very impressed with the '09 Ram, overall. The "shark nose" front end is mean and agressive, and the rear has a clean, "custom" look to it, with the exhaust cut-outs in the bumper and hidden tailgate handle. Inside, the quality of materials is impressive and attention to detail is evident in many areas. The gauge cluster looks more suited to a luxury car than a pickup. You will be amazed how deep the two hidden storage compartments in the rear floorboard really are. The number of places to put things in this cab is really amazing.
Under the hood, things seem familiar. There is a lot more room between the fan and the motor itself than is evident in my pics. The new Ram looks like it will be about as easy to do routine service on as our current trucks.
Check out the pics and let me know what you think.:)

So does this mean Archer is giving big deals with the show in town!! There are TV ads talking about Texas Rebates of $6500 on 2008 1500's. Maybe time to get the last of the Megacabs!! :thatfunny

Great pic's.
Was there just the one 09' at the show. I am still looking for more regular cab pic. There was a black long bed outside at the Detroit show, but there are not but a couple pics of it floting around, and none of the interior of the reg cab. I have been wondering where that truck went.

(I'm glad it is there!).... ;)No, unfortunately it is up on a turn table and won't be accessible......although for the press preview yesterday it was unlocked (until the Chrysler folks got pissed because me and Nick were climbing in and out of it so much lol). :D
CatRam....... the rebate is $6000 on the Ram 1500 but there's an extra $500 for the auto show good now through next weekend, I believe.

Every year at the Pittsburgh Auto Show, I swear they forget to bring the new models... kinda frustrating when you want to see the latest and greatest. Its Pittsburgh... kind of a major city, ya know??

Those are 8 inchs x 13.25 inchs x 5 inchs...each can hold ten 12 ounce cans plus ice.

Its Pittsburgh... kind of a major city, ya know?? Don't feel bad... we've never seen the Challenger concept here, even though GM has managed to bring the Camaro now three years in a row... :crazy:Chrysler thinks just because Houston is the number one truck market in the world, that trucks are all we care about. They don't realize Houston is a car crazy town, and not bringing the Challenger here, again, is potentially very bad for business. :(

The Jeep Hurricane was a sweet surprise.:D Oh, but still, :WHT: .I understand why there were no Vipers. The '08 Vipers are just now arriving at dealerships and most of the early ones are already sold. They have to borrow a Viper from a local dealer each year for the auto show, and right now there probably isn't one in Houston for them to borrow.
But I have to agree otherwise, besides the '09 Ram, Chrysler was really upstaged by GM at this show.

Oh yeah! And the five-link rear suspension setup was painted blue to match! I wonder if that was just for the show truck, or if it's going to be standard on higher trim packages like the R/T, Sport and Laramie models.

We didn't have the Challenger here in Detroit either. Although we did have a couple of Vipers, including the ACR, talk about intimidating. We did have the hemi orange Daytona Charger though. That was nice!!
Oh, and Chevy had a Camaro dubbed "Bumble Bee". How lame is that??

Are they only offer front buckets now? The center console looks very Tundra inspired. I definately like the new interior though. In-dash storage seems a little less. not as many cubbies. Did you happen to notice if it had an aux port, or some sort of MP3 integration for the radio? I can't see any input like the current ones. Also, where the power outlets go?

A bench seat is still available and will be standard on most of the trim levels. I believe the Sport model only, may not be offered with a bench.

I agree and found a solution. Go to the Cleveland show the end of this month at the IX center. Easier to get to and much larger. Trust me, you will be glad you went. And from Mercer, the ride is probably not much farther.

Estimated "2-door + 4-door" RamCharger Mods here:
+ Heavy Duty.
- more as you scroll down that thread.
I'm glad Dodge has given more attention to the interior. Let's just hope you can get more than shades of gray. Dark slate, Slate, and Light Graystone are getting old.
The availability of a console shifter is neat.....but I'd probably stick with a column shift automatic for the legroom, one of the reasons I like trucks over cars to begin with.
