anyone know if i use a 86 rad support if i can use my 80 grille on it?just by looking at it i thought that i could.

You can, but I think there's a few minor mods you have to do.

far as mounting the grille?

I can't remember, maybe not. I know the screws around the grille will go in fine, I think maybe you have to use the 72-80 filler panel. Not sure if the holes for the bolts behind the headlight buckets are there in the '86 core support. Also, the '81-93's had square headlights, the mounting bracketry for the older round lights might need to have some new whole drilled in the support for them.
