Hi everyone, a strange problem started to show recently on my 2001 caravan. Most of the times, when i start the car, the right day light would be off ... When i turn the switch to low beam , the left day light would shut off and the right low beam would light up... Both high beam lights both work fine. Sometimes , the problem would resolve by itself when i drive it . The next day it would do the same problem again. These are the tests /changes:
- Replace both bulbs
- Swapped EPM
checked fuses...all good

Anyone have seen such problems ?
i'm starting to think it could be the powertrain module or BCM located under the dash , need help please !

Sounds like the Daytime running light module. The DRL on most cars run low voltage through the high beams. Can be a problem on Canadian Cars. Try getting a used one at a junk yard. I don't know where to look on a canadian car as I haven't lived in Canada for about 5 years.

ok.. but why the right low beam would power up and the left low beam shut down ?

Internal electrical problem.

I agree with whitebb. the DRL module does go flakey at times. I have seen it on both a Nissan Maxima and my current Caravan. Another possiblity could be the relay. On my Caravan, the module is a combination, with the DRL and the flasher. it is high up on the junction block under the dash to the left of the steering column.
