whining noise heard under the hood while idleing or driving and seems to get louder when I turn the wheels ? The power steering oil is full (maybe it needs to be changed) ?
As always any ideas or suggestions are appreciated !

2004 GC almost 70,000

Thanks, Jack

This is a common problem on these vans . It is coming from the power steering system . The fix can be as simple as the following which i recently did on our 2004 . Get a turkey baster and remove all the power steering fluid from the power steering reservoir on top . Refill with fresh ATF+4 fluid only , fill till it is right at the top fill mark on the reservoir . This fixed the whine on mine . If its still there then run it for a week or so and repeat again , you will only get about 10-12 onces out of the reservoir so you can change it 2-3 times on a single quart of ATF+4 fluid .. So far the whine has not returned on mine . May change it again once it gets warmer . When I pulled out the fluid on ours in was really dark , not the nice light pink color you normally see in transmission fluid. The whole process will take 15-20 minutes tops... The other fix is supposedly to replace the whole reservoir which apparently has some screen in it that may get slightly plugged , that part is fairly inexspensive also think about $25 . If the dealer does it , probably $125 to replace it .

ok Thanks vipergg, so an oil change with ATF +4 should do the trick ?!
