I am thinking on putting shorty headers on my 76 dodge truck. Will be rebuilding the 360 this summer and have not had much luck in finding them for the truck. I don't want the long ones as I don't want to have to change the starter alot. Any ideals here will help. Thanks

dont waste your time with shorty headers... spend a few bucks and get the long tubes... your starter will be fine.

If ya use the compact high torque starter there will be plenty of room around it. It's a a better starter anyway....and you can get it out without loosening off the headers. ...and better performance from the long tube style.

And I have removed a fullsize starter on mine w/o having to loosen the headers. It a bit of a pain but not too bad.

Summitracing carries hotrod type shorties. (Block huggers) They can be ordered with ceramicoat but don't have AIR tubes.

This is my thought as well you don't really have any gains with the shorty headers. I have long tubes on my truck with a compact starter, I have run this combo for a couple of years with no complication.
