Got a good one:
Before starting the engine (anytime), the pressure sensor will indicate 40psi, in the ON position -not running. Occasionally, it will drift to high-normal and ease back down. This is an '01 2500 2WD with 102K. It is a 24v ISB with auto-trans. This does not change when the enginer is running. I can only keep an ear out for low pressure. :WHT: :WHT:
My question is...has anybody experienced this anomoly AND where is the oil-sending unit located.
I have heard that these senders come in a few variations, such as:
2-pin
3-pin
Idiot sendor that simply transmits the presence of oil pressure, which the guage will translate into a mid-range deflection.
An actual real-pressure sending unit that transmits actual pressure algorythems to the guage.
Any info, paticularly the sender location would be helpful. :help: :help:
