hey guys, im getting pretty frustrated here.
2 weeks ago the low beams on my 2000 gc se (3.3) stopped working.
i checked the bulbs fuse, relay, everything, but to no avail
the next day, one low beam started working, but only one hi beam worked.
a couple days later, the parking lights stopped working, and the functionality of the hi and low beams switched back and forth.
the parking lights suddenly came on when i toggled the headlight switch, but would not turn off, except by removing the parking light fuse.
i went to pep boys, and after 320 dollars worth of labor charges, they told me the wires from the fuse block to the headlights were broken completely, so now the headlights work, but the parking lights still do not.
pep boys is telling me its the bcm, and i know it could be, but itll take several days to get the part in
but i really dont trust them after they attributed the parking light issue to the broken headlight cable issue.
help.
please.
i need this car to commute 80 miles a day, and my vr4 is in the shop for at least a month.

well i can tell you it is the bcm...i see this quite a bit at the dealership...usually on the caravans if one headlight works and you replace the bulb and it still doesnt work then it is most likely the bcm which is really easy to replace...too bad you didnt post this before you wasted a couple hundred dollars...if i was you and already spent a couple hundred dollars i would just take it to the dealership and have them replace the bcm and test it to make certain it is the bcm and they should not charge more than 1.5hours for this
