I have given the thread a lot of though and it has been going on too long for anyone to follow. I think that the whole thing revolves around grounding. My take on it is this:
1. gages die - probably due to bad ground solder joint.
fix is to re-solder all joints and add a ground where the ground goes from back to front of the circuit board. Then connect the ground part of the dash sub-frame. The dash is fixed
2. security system goes haywire: This causes three strikes and you will not start at all. Someone has posted a bad solder joint on the security system.
A. where is security system control box located. All that I can find is that it is located under the steering wheel assembly.
B. If the control box were re-soldered and an additional wire connected to a similar ground as #1 above, would we be fixed?
Wife will not drive the T&C until I have "fixed" the problem...
Comments????
