On my 98 Grand Caravan Sport the low oil pressure indicator (the oil can symbol) keeps coming on as well as the gong. My oil level is fine. It seems to come on more often when the vehicle is at a stop. Water temp is good, not getting hot. Could it be the oil pressure switch, the connector, another circuit board? If the oil pressure sending unit was disconnected would there be a light or a gong? Need some help here as this is driving my wife crazy listening to this all the time. Thanks in advance for your help!

I would replace the switch. You would know if the motor was damaged because it would make noise by now. Switch replacement should be easy and inexpensive.

Thanks for the info. Yes, it was the pressure switch. I tested the old one and it was very erratic until about 38 psi when it opened. The new switch opens at 5 psi with no erratic operation, no change in measured resistance throughout its range.

Hi. I have a 98 Voyager 3.0 litre engine. Similar oil pressure switch problem (I hope). Can you please tell me where the switch is located? Thank you

Should be close to the oil filter in the block or oil filter housing.
