My wife has a 2001 Caravan Sport with the 3.3L. Oil is leaking from the rear (closest to the firewall) valve cover gasket. Is changing the gasket something that a do it yourself guy can do or do I have to take it to someone who has special tools and has done it before?

If there is anyone out there who has changed the rear valve cover gasket or knows how to do it, I would much appreciated hearing from you.

Many thanks in advance.

Gib

Welcome to Dodgetalk
If you have any sort of machanical background you could change it out .... if you dont have a manual you could refrence it out of a chiltons

Thanks for the confidence, sherdep. My son has come up with a Dodge Repair Manual for the 1999 Caravan 3.3L. Would that suffice for the valve cover gasket change on the 2001 3.3L?

Thanks,

Gib

Read it and tell me if you can understand it?
Have you ever tackled any sort of Valve cover or anything engine wise? If you have then I dont see why you couldnt tackle it

I'll have my son read the manual -- I take it if the instructions work for '99 they'll work for an '01. My son is a nuclear electronics technician in the Navy and I am and old gearhead from waaaaay back - used to build hot rods and have changed more than one valve cover gasket, so I guess we'll tackle it.

Thanks again.
