I picked up a 99 Ram parts truck with a 360, and was wonder what things I will run into that dont interchange. The truck that the engine is going into is a 77 with a manual trans. are the cranks different as far where the flywheel bolts up to?
Anyone that has done a similar swap, your input is much appreciated. :gr_patrio

Should bolt right right in. You'll need to buy a carb intake for a Magnum, as LA intakes won't fit.

I wonder if I'm going to have hood clearance with the taller intake.

should be no problem with clearance in a truck

Well, Now the wife seen this parts truck in my shop, And she wants me to fix it.... My opinion the truck is to far gone. What would you do?
That depends on your skill level and the time to work on it.From the looks it seems it would be a pain to fix.You might end up putting more into than it is worth.I would figure up the cost for parts and labor(even your time)to see if it is cost effective.I have a project that is just about as bad as that one.I am only fixing it because it was the wifes first car she bought on her own.The biggest problem I see is it looks like the firewall is damaged. If it is that would be the deal breaker for me.But that is my opinion.Hope this helps.Good luck on whatever you decide. :)

I know from personal experience that wrecks sometimes look worse than they really are. If it was me I would get all the wrecked parts off. If the frame isn't bent which it looks like the damage is above the frame. Getting a front group & misc parts out of a junk yard you may be surprised how cheap you can fix it.

All the damage is above the frame, The only damage I seen so far is where the lower radiator support mounts to the frame that horn is twisted.

Was the wiring damaged? You will most likely have to replace the radiator support,if it can not be pulled straight. The good thing is it looks like the air bags did not go off.

I like em both, I guess I will let it sit untill i can make a decission. Or find a front end donor, which I doubt I will find cheep enough.
There is no doubt i will have to replace the radiator support. Only thing salvagable is the passenger fender, inner fender well, and headlight. And yes it did destroy the fuse/relay box.

You're looking at at least $1500 to fix the '99, and that's if you get the parts dirt cheap and do the work yourself. Complete front clip, rad support, radiator, AC condenser, windshield, all the lights across the front, plus straightening out the inner fender and firewall.

It doesnt appear the firewall is hurt, The inner fender cant be straightened.
If I repair it I will be doing all the work of course. New aftermarket parts list has exceeded $1000 alone. Not including paint and materials and my labor, I really dont see the truck being worth it. Not to mention the windshield and steering column is yanked loose. No idea whats wrong with it yet.

With all that damage, the air bag didn't blow. Not cool!

The impact never touched the frame. It went under a 3 ton truck.

Ok, Back on topic.....
Does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for the 99 Rams, More specificaly the PCM. Of course i'd probably have better luck in the 94-01 section for question.
