I found a nice Edelbrock intake at the junkyard and I want to put it on my 318 but its kinda dirty. I have tried my parts washer and that got the grease off, then I tried my pressure washer and that got me wet, then I tried my sand blaster using #23 walnut shells and the intake laughed at that. What would be best to bring back the clean aluminum color? A more aggressive grit? a paint stripper of some sort? I am trying to get the dirt off that just wont leave.

I've always used glass bead on mine. Looked almost new to me.

+1 on the glass beads, or anything of similar abrasiveness. Also, if you can find it somewhere, Socar White Lightning is a very powerful degreaser/cleaner, better than Purple Power.

Well it was totally degreased and I wasnt happy with the finish. I went back and blasted it again and its real clean but not bright so I decided to paint it instead. I sprayed it with an adhesion promoter (3 coats) when that dries I am going to spray it with a high temp graphite color spray. It will probably stay cleaner longer that way.

The car is my wifes, We got it from an old guy in Rocky Mount NC. It is originally white and has a good 20ft paint job and really should be redone. This is the car I was posting about a few months back when I had the engine redone and they screwed it up.
I am going to work on the intake today, I will post some pics when its done.

67, That car looks very familiar. There aren't but a couple of those around here, and I haven't seen one of them in a while.

The car is from Rocky Mount, NC. We bought it a few years back when we used to live there. I was heavily into turbo Dodges back then. I dont know if you might have seen me around, We had a Santa Fe blue Shelby Charger and a red Spirit RT with the license plate saying "EATS RICE".
