Aftermarket speakers

I'm looking to upgrade all of the speakers in my neon. I'm not looking to add any amps just yet though. Any suggestions?

I happen to like my Pioneer subs and my sonys in the doors. If and when I replace my dash speakers they will be Kenwood or Pioneer.

Now if I had money to blow id buy all Rockford Fosgate.

I'm not sure what size speakers fit in neons but i've always liked pioneer 6x9's. They sound great without an amp, and even better with one.

That would drive me insane, I cant stand riding with people with blown speakers :D

I used to run Clarion in my Neon and even without an amp, the clarity and quality was incredible and when I added subs and a couple amps it was very well balanced out

My Polk Audio's are really clear but they come with a price tag. I am kind of disapointed with my Infiniti's but they will handle a lot of power and play louder than shit.

What is the RMS rating on those 6x9's?

From memory the only thing I can tell u is they are 550 watters. Add them with a powered sub on the standard head unit and u have a great system.

idk watsup wit my speakers but they sound really good.i also put some kenwoods in my dads truck. it sounds ridiculous off the stock stereo. ima pick up a used 6 ch amp. n hook up another set i have. sorry i love music. LOUD music...

LOUD MUSIC RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I got two Pioneer 10's with 2 Sony Xplode Door speakers. The doors are run off the stereo alone and the subs are run off a 760 watt Pioneer amp. I need to buy some 6x9s and new door speakers that can handle some real power so that I can hook up my 200 watt Pioneer amp to them. Other than that mine sounds great.

You wanna talk about loud? I'm using a 600w 4channel amp for my 6x9's and a 1000w RMS amp for my three 10's. Its all in the sig.. :rck:

Ive never heard of 6x9's with as much wattage as the ones on their website. The most powerful ones you find in stores are under 150rms and the speakers on their site are like 350rms, are they on a different scale maybe?

Boschmann are American alaska. I got them from a supplier here that imports them. 550 watt 6 x 9's - u don't come across them everyday! lol

Truthfully your own ears can help you pick a brand, just listen to each speaker from cheap to expensive. Then check your wallet and pick on in between. 3-way 6 1/2s are nice. your dash 3 1/2s can easily be switched to 4 inch with little mod. of course you can always do what I did, and install 2- 6 1/2s on the dash, doors and 4 across the back window, hope to add pics to show my neons upgrades. it all looks like its suppose to be there!! metra stereo kits makes 6 1/2 door pods for chevy door panels and you can mount them anywhere and I mean anywhere. I am gonna still add two more to rear doors after I install a power window kit. Not much bass from 6 1/2s but my 3 JLs makes up for it. :rck:

gatta set of jl front door, dash tweeters and rear 6x9's off a jl 600 4 chnl amp and 2 jl w0v3 12's in the rear on a kicker comp 1100 watt amp, internally bridged, running off 2 interstate deep cycle 1500 cold cranking amp batteries in my 1st gen neon. i need a new deck tho the steros is only an old alpine cd deck that has blown ouputs so i ran the amp off the pre outs lol.

well im no bass freak... i like classic rock and country man. shes only got a little bit of bass in there. the system i got was cheap...200$ for it all. and i just hate crap quality stuff. i like me tunes crisp and clear. man country music thumps the next block over if i turn it up!

i ran all sony xplode in my neon except the tweets which are pioneer,nothing to fancy though but it sounds nice--6x9 int he rear deck,6.5 in the doors and 1 inch tweets in the dash and 1 12"in the truck running off a 650 watt xplode amp.Xplode HU also.

well theres well over 2000 watts of bass in that car alone. 3520 clip. but ive only ever cranked it and the amp up to maximum levels and blew out the rear window, litteraly shook it to pieces :p but a trip to the scrap yard and 15 bucks and were good

that wasn't the wattage that blew the rear window...it was the country music dude. Never would have happened if you had been playing anything else. LOL ;)

hahaha ok you wanna see a rear window move 2 1/2 inchs under 1/4 of the amplifiers accual potential power...and thing pounds.. glad i wasnt bumpin that rap sh*t in there or i woulda blown the roof off the car too!
