My check engine light

Hello everyone,

My name is Michael,just joined a few mins ago.I need some help or advice,on how to reset my check engine light.What happen,is today I had to replace the battery.After I installed the new battery,the check engine came on.

Someone in chatt in chatt,sujusted,to remove the positive battery cable,for about 5mins.

try that and see if it works, also pull the fault codes and see what the computer says the problem is, may be another issue

Hi Dakotah18,

got my check engine light to go out.It turned out the alterantor wasnt putting out a charge.I price a new one,and nearly fainted...$175 dollars for a new one.So i called a starter/alternator re-build shop,and the man said bring it in.

He discoveryed that the brushes were bad and he replaced them.He only charged me $30,that a alot better buying a new one..LOL.After i re-installed it,the light when off,and hasnt come back on.
