New Durango owner here. 2004 Hemi Limited. Has most options, except for the high end electronic stuff (uConnect, DVD, etc.). Patriot Blue, gray leather interior.

I bought it Saturday, so it's still love and roses.

I bought it to tow my project car (67 Chevy II ... check my signature for details) and family. My 2001 Z28 wasn't up to the job. :) I'm an avid car enthusiast and occasional automotive writer (Car Craft). I'll be looking to bump the horsepower well over the 335 base number. Anybody know anything about headers or exhaust systems? I'd guess there's lots of power there.

Looking forward to learning more about the truck. I spend a lot of time hanging out at pro-touring.com (Chevy II again ...), and this site seems great as well.

My wife and I are going to get our patriot blue 04 Durango SLT Hemi tomorrow morning. We are both very excited. We are buying the Durango to replace a fully loaded GMC Envoy. The Envoy only has 40,000 miles on it, but the transmission has gone out twice. I have lost faith in GM and we're going to give Dodge a try.

I just bought an '04 Black SLT. Loaded with Hemi (of course), leather, DVD, etc. Love everything about it. I traded in my '99 Durango for it. I had a lot of work in it, but I really wanted the '04. No regrets. :rck:

My wife and I picked up a brand new '04 SLT (4x2) with a Hemi last Sunday. Graphite metallic with gray cloth interior. It doesn't have all the bells and whistle, but at $27K, I think we got a good deal.
I want to install the tow package and step runners. Anyone know the part numbers on these, as my local dealer don't have an updated parts book. Also, I assume there should be pre-drilled holes, so if I get the factory parts, they should bolt on, correct?

Just got my 04 Limited with Hemi, 3.92 rear gear and traction control (2 wheel drive). Love the power and ride but have 2 complaints. Brakes are weak. There is nothing wrong with my truck, its just that Dodge put some whimpy brakes on this truck. I would hate to be towing anything and have to stop short. Brakes on my 96 subruban were way better. Second complaint is the open differential. How could dodge put an open dif on a 335 hp truck with a 8k plus towing capacity? Limited slip would have been way better. Overall I do love the truck and everything works great. Just had those two issues that would have really made the truck awesome.

FYI.....the brakes on the 04 Durango are the same as the brakes on the Ram, so I would expect that they will provide more than enough stopping power for the Durango.

Congrats on your new rides everybody. It's good to see these starting to get out on the roads.

Mike_s - just curious about the differential issue you raised - maybe 4x2 matters because I have a limited slip on both the 01 D and 03 Ram. Both are 3.92 with 4x4 and tow package.

They are 22" Lenani Slate Rims, I had them made to fit, but it was worth it, and if you can't tell from the pics, I lowered the front by 1.5 inches and the rear is down 3.5 inches to even her out.

Hemibass,

it's a 03 600rr. It's a tough decision, take the cbr to work or drive the new Hemi? Either way it make the drive much nicer than before I had my toys!

Did you tie the DVD into the stock stereo? if so how?
