Has anyone come across the stored code 2511 in the ecm. It is an egr code. I forget the details but I called the Sprinter hotline and they said to clean out the EGR cooler. Sure enough I pulled it out and the cooling fins were completely plugged. THis is a 2007 Sprinter diesel. Only has 12,000 miles on it. Stupid thing was really dirty and didn't get all the dirt out. Put it back together and ran the engine. Darn thing started surging real bad. Then shut it off and it dieseled for 10 seconds. I could smell coolant. Did I disturb one of the cooling fins? All I did was spray brake clean in it. I'm farely new to servicing sprinters. Anyone have this issue?

What loading weights were you carrying
12000 miles and you blocked a cooler this can only happen with sub standard Diesel or contaminated fuel.
ULSD OK if used which brand? which location.

Its a 2500 van and i'm the technician. I know sub par fuel will do this and the wrong oil plus idling the engine for a long time. I already told the owner what caused it. I guess I was hoping a technician on here would read this and say oh yea i had that problem as well.
