Any one had any experience in removing the rear vent (window) motor???
i noticed there is a clip that holds the shaft from the motor to the shaft that is stuck to the window, looked to me like i could just put the blade of a small screw driver under it and flip the clip out!!!! not so!! tried that and seem,s like i have to put alot of pressure on it to get it to move, im a little worried i might damage something! any input on this would be most helpful,

I also noticed the motors seemed to be a sealed unit, i intended to dismantle them and rebuild them. one moves in and out with a little gentel persuasian and the other dont move at all. Anyone tried to open these motors and rebuild them.

thanks in advance for help on these issues.

Steve

Sorry, don't have a clue, I've never messed with them, but do share your results when you try to rebuild it. I'm sure that is information that a lot of people would be interested in.

sorry, I had a whole reply typed but had to run before I could post it.

The shaft from the motor has a wire spring clip. You do not have to do anything with this clip. You should be able to pry the shaft off the part attached to the window. It is a ball joint. the clip snaps over the ball. I found this out because I removed my clip when i replaced my motor and realized i didn't have to do that.

The motor is a sealed unit and cannot be repaired or rebuilt. You can find motors at the junk yard but they are almost always attached to the window. I found a yard that would sell me just the motor for $15. Check www.car-part.com to find a yard near you. Or buy a new one from www.dodgeparts.com or your local dealer. I think they are about $60.

i thought i posted here yesterday??

oh well here it is again

I have included some stuff from the service manual for an 01. which should be very similar

Number 5 points to the link tab that you have to pry out with a flat pry tool

these motors are never rebuilt. much cheaper and easier to find a used replacement at a wrecking yard
