91 K mi. Thanks for all the posts on this subject. The intermittent failure-to-start problem began a few days ago. Occasionally I would get the no bus light. Also the fuel guage would not register. After disconnecting, reconnecting, cleaning, testing the MAP and TPS etc while it would not start I firmly tapped on the ECM and it operated normally.
I think the problem is an open in the ECM. I'm going to Auto Zone now to do the OBCD II diagnostics.

99 4x4 MAXIM. When I went out to start it to go get the scan there was no engine check light on. Strange. But it did start then promptly died. I started it again then tapped on the ECM. It would then quit but I was able to start it again. I did this several times. Then I removed the ECM, took the cover off and found there was a sticky plastic-like cover over the electronics so I buttoned it back up and reinstalled. I noticed it had been "remanufactured" apparently by Dodge in 2005.
Then I went through the start, tap the ECM routine several more times. At one point several of the relays were clicking madly. Then it seemed to settle down and has given me no other problems even during my short drive yesterday.
Through all this the check engine light did not come back on.
Question - the sticker on the ECM says the milage needs to be reset upon replacement. So can anyone put any milage they want into it?
