Noticed the van was leaking at the front drivers side right at the front of the engine. Turned out to be power steering fluid. Took it over to the mechanic and he double checked it. Apparently this is a very commen issue with these things. Now... i would have thought the power steering pump would have been on the passenger side of the motor as that is where and serpentine belt is located??? Anyhoo... how difficult is this to do myself? Its a 99 3.8L... i've noticed the 3.3 and 3.0 requires disconnecting the exhaust... is the 3.8 the same? He quoted me 2 hours of labour to do it.

Thanks

The procedure for the 3.8L is the same for the 3.3L. The pump is on the right side (pass/side). If it is leaking from the drivers side it probably the trans fluid cooling lines running into the radiator or external cooler. And 2 hours for replacing the pump is a gift IMO so go for it.
