2000 GCV SE Rear hatch lock frozen

Need help with getting a rear hatch lock unfrozen.

Cannot open with power locks or key in door lock.

Very frustrating. Have disabled power door lock feature because I am tired of hearing the rear hatch lock whine when it engages,

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

If you flip down the rear most seat and look at the trim panel on the inside of the rear hatch, you will notice a small button towards the bottom/center that you can pop off with a screwdriver or something. you can access part of the hatch release mechanism through that hole

Something broke in my daughter's 96 Caravan rear hatch lock mechanism, so I used your suggestion about the small button near the latch and was able to get it open.

Thanks, now I've got to repair it.
