A freind of mine is looking into getting a newer car after getting his Ford Escort on the road and getting it leagal it didn't last 3 hours and he was t-boned!!!!!!!! Anyhow his new G/F's son is selling his 01 SXT Neon for 800$.
I have not seen it yet but he says its in great shape and had 140K on the motor.

Sounds like a killer deal to me if the kid who had it did not run it into the dirt. LOL

in 01 there was the se and the es. the sxt came later in 03 i believe ACR. $800 not a bad deal for an 01 and with that many miles on it. I'm assuming the timing belt has been replaced at least once and should be replaced again soon.

shit if he dont buy it lmk! i will cash! lol i got a extra srt-4 motor swap sitting in the garage from a srt-4 i bought from my insurance company! well my friend wrecked it and i paid to buy it back from them. only thing i dont have the radiator and fmic which im assuming is interchangable with the radiator that has and well i can get a bfmic, i could buy that car and then turn around and sell it for a lot lol... considering this motor/tranny only has 22k on it. was kinda wanting to save it for a 1st gen swap but hey lol . basically atm the car is just he two front seats forward... the back got hit by a huge truck and destroyed it so we cut the car in half pretty much.

Here is the deal with the car. My freind Rick test drove it and he was impressed as I told him he would be. It's a Neon SX with a 5 spd, it's gold in color and had a bad axle/cvjoint anyhow the kid had that fixed for Rick and he got the car. I will see it tonight sometime when he comes out to show it to me.
I couldn't stress it enough to him about the time belt. So e asked the kid about the time belt and was told that it had never been done!!! I almost ***T my pants when he said that. I told him to go ahead and buy the damn thing but he best stop on his way home and buy a time belt so I could help him change it. I hope he listens and don't end up busting that belt. On the other hand, I could buy it realy realy cheap after he bends some valves!!!
Other than that I guess there are 15 inch aftermarket American Racing wheels on it and they are black. Rick seems to hate them!!! Good for me!! Im going to trade him 16's or 14's for the 15's. I can't wait to see them to so I can make up my mind. I think they would look good in black on my car.
He told me that the car ran damn good and he was impressed with the way it handled. I laughed and said "told ya so" LOL. Then he tells me that it ran well but no where near as well as mine. I laughed and said after he dumps a few grand into it it may have a fighting chance. LOL

tuner, i've got a 2001 cherokee...I've never been on a jeep forum. as of lately my jeep is all over the road unless you really hang onto the wheel. Got pulled over by an alaska state trooper the other night cause i was all over the road, he thought I was drunk (im not a drinker) told him I thought it was the steering gear...you heard of this being a common issue over on the other forums?

Hey Tuner!!!! About time you checked in again. Race? Did I hear race? Your on! LOL

I have not seen the wheels yet. Actually Rick is getting the car out of the shop today becouse he is tired of waiting for a ride. With any luck I will see the wheels tonight when I get to work. I think I will have to buy 2 tires for the 16s. The tires on his wheels are spankin new perelli (spelling) performance tires. I wouldn't feel right giveing him two worn out Kumho's. lol Im crossing my fingers, I want rid of the 16's for good.

Thats a pretty neat pic there Tuner. I wish I had a picture of me on my quad parked on top of a car, well almost on top till the wife caught me. It had tire marks on the windsheild tho! HeHeHe

I had a 70 CJ 7 and loved the thing. It too was the only 4x4 I ever owned. I wish I had kept it to restore and left the Neon alone. LMAO Nah! not realy it is much faster.

If cars were anything like quads as far as speed vs 4x4 I would indeed take you up on the offer to mud bog. LMAO Only cause I know my 250 quad racer could just skip across the top of some realy thick sticky mud. It was a good night that night. Everyone thought that if my 250 racer would make it their 4x4 should too. WRONG! LMAO there were 4 stuck in it at once each one thought hed help the other, eventually someone almost lost a finger between two bike racks and they still had to be winched out. I hit it first and skipped across it like a rock. LOL

See I actually hate mud, but have played in it, that is evedent by the grass that is growing on my skidplate under the transfer case *lol* See I prefer Rocks they are more fun

the rocks take more skill. Anyone can peg the throttle and get stuck in the mud. LMAO

TripleXJ

not only that mud is more exspensive, see playing in the rocks ya might break an axle or driveshaft or U-Joint. In mud you break rearends, motors, trannys........ Now granted you have more of a Rollover chance in the Rocks to me it is worth it due to costs and the fact after playing on the rocks it don't cost ya $20 to wash ya vehicle
