My driver side window has become stuck in the open position twice now. In both instances, I removed the door panel and tapped the motor and it began working again, so I'm assuming that's the problem. I've read several posts here (and appreciate all the good info). Replacing the entire motor/regulator assembly seems a little daunting to me, and I'm not sure how much good weather I'll have if I run into problems. Do you think I can get by with just replacing the motor itself? It's not clear to me how difficult though it is to remove and install the existing regulator into a new motor. Thanks for any insights.

This is a very confusing problem for everyone including me when you searching for answers on the net! Most of the pics show cables and window rails. On the newer vans you don't need to replace all of that.
You can't replace just the motor.
This is a very easy job for an 03. Just go to rock auto .com and type in your year and drivers side and order the motor w/regulator. You have already done the hard part of getting the door panel off!
It's not like in the older vans where you need to replace the cables and such. The regulator is just the round gear box attached to the motor.
Basically the whole job is unplug the motor, take the three bolts out that hold it on, carefully take the cover off the gear box and unhook the cable pull the old motor out,put the new one in in reverse order.
A few things, Tape the window in the up position, discconect the negative battery cable, test everyting before you put the door panel back on!

I've got it on order from Rock Auto and will post how it goes once it's here and done. Thanks!
