Hello all, I'm looking for a little help. I have a 1999 Caravan with a 2.4 liter engine. I found oil in the radiator then discovered the engine oil was low. It took 2+ quarts to refill the engine. I've been told that it could be a blown head gasket, cracked block or possibly a leaking oil cooler in the radiator? Is there an oil cooler in the radiator?

No, there is no oil cooler in the radiator. If you do have an oil cooler, the oil cooler would have it's own separate mini radiator somewhere.
My first guess would be a blown head gasket, then, but not likely, a cracked block.

Does it have a tint of red in it? If so, that is the radiator (trans fluid). If it is brown then that is engine oil and I have not seen many cracked heads or blocks in a long time so I would agree that the head gasket is the next most likely problem.

The oil isn't red/pink, it's brown.
I'm going to try a compression test later today.
Thanks.

do a cylinder leak down test; more reliable than a compression test and gives a better diagnosis
