What a great forum!

My wifes 1994 Grand Caravan 3.3 is driving me and all the local parts people nuts!

When it has been driven for 10 minutes or more and I shut it off, it will start and run if I try it right away. After shut off, if it sits for a few minutes, it will start right up but the RPM goes down slowly and it dies after a few seconds. At times it will cycle from idle to 300 or so RPM before it quits. Today I heard the fuel pump coming on right as the engine picked up on a few of these cycles.

No engine codes are present.

When it cools off for 30 minutes or more it starts right up and runs. As long as I don't shut it off, it runs. After shutting it off for a few minutes when warmed up is when this occurs.

I have been chasing a misfire in the mid RPM range under load for some time. I'm not sure if this is related, but thought I should throw it in there.

Today I pulled the fuel pump relay and it was very hot. I switched two of the relays but it made no difference in the problem.

Parts replaced are:
fuel pump and filter
fuel regulator
coil pack
wires
cam sensor
crank sensor
water temp sensor

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance for your help.

check your fuel pump for both pressure and volume

I suspect you had best prime your wallet to buy another pump

my brother inlaw seems to be having the same problem with his 93 grand.
he was told to change the m.a.p. sensor or the crank sensor.
i think it is more likely an ignition problem. if i hear anything different i will post. good luck.

Thanks for the replies. action mike, I have tried the pump, didn't help. I do appreciate your suggestion.

lugnut2, I just now drove it after finding and repairing a bad connection at the coil pack, and it did not change. I unplugged the MAP sensor and it ran. I'll try a new MAP sensor in the morning.

If that fixes it I'll post back so maybe your brother in law can get some relief. This thing has been a real pain, and my wife has MY car until her van is fixed!!!!!

Thanks for the help.
