2005 GC SXT with factory Infinity sound system with dvd changer and dvd monitor overhead.
Looking for the location of the factory Ininity amp so I can bypass it and run the wires into my LC8 and add my Alpine amps.
It seems the factory amp in this van is the new Bigfoot... no sightings recently.
Anyone help? I've asked at my local dealer's service dept. and nobody wanted to help me out, just a bunch of "uh, huh? what?...."
I just want to :rck: :rck: :rck: :rck:

I don't know of it is applicable but on my '95, the Infinity amps are part of each speaker.
My $.01 (probably not good enough advice to be worth $.02)

The book says it's in the right rear quarter panel directly below the speaker and above the wheel well. Remove the plastic trim panel and you should see it.

Thanks, I've already tried removing the RR quarter panel molding once (the side where the rear a/c motor is) and it was a pain in the.... so I just changed out the speakers (both 6x9 and the component tweeter) and put everything back together. I'll look there tomorrow and let everyone know.

Okay, I've removed the amp (still hooked up, just hanging) but now I am having a hard time finding a wiring diagram that tells me what color wires are what.... so if ANYONE has a line on this info, please please please let me know!
I don't mind paying for a wiring diagram at some website, but I need to know that the diagram I buy will be the right one for this van. All the sites I've seen offer no guarantee that you're getting the right diagram for my van.

eautorepair is the consumer version of Mitchell On Demand. You can buy a 1 week subscription for $10. If the wiring diagram isn't right, just contact them and they will either refund your money or get you the correct diagram. They're really easy to deal with.

I am looking at my service manual right now, and it seems your van has 8 speakers (factory). 2 in the top of the dash, one in each front door, one under each rear window, and 2 in the far rear pillars. all are amplified by the infinity amp except the dash speakers as far as i can see.
Dont bother with subscriptions. i'm usually pretty generous posting up service manual stuff like this. I have included a few things that might help you out
